Four men, five weeks – a plan for Europe’s future

The rift between Washington and Tel Aviv over Iran’s nuclear issue has widened as the Israeli premier and defense minister refuse to meet with US Undersecretary of State.

On Friday, May 25, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak refused to meet with the top US negotiator on Iran in Baghdad Wendy Sherman who had travelled to Tel Aviv to brief Israeli officials about negotiations between Iran and the P5+1–Britain, China, France, Russia, and the United States plus Germany.

Iran and the P5+1 wrapped up their final meeting in Baghdad on Thursday evening after two earlier sessions of negotiations on Thursday and Wednesday.

Sherman delivered her report to National Security Adviser Yaakov Amidror and Foreign Ministry Director-General Rafi Barak instead, Debka file reported.

According to her report, no progress was achieved in Baghdad as Iran refused to suspend uranium enrichment at low (3.5-5 percent) or high (20 percent) levels or shut down the Fordow nuclear plant near Qom.

Tehran and the six major world powers have agreed to hold another round of talks in Moscow on June 18-19.

Iran has stressed there would be no progress until the P5+1 recognized Iran’s inalienable “right” as a signatory of the Non-Proliferation Treaty to enrich uranium.

Four men, five weeks – a plan for Europe’s future

Concerning the financial collapse: I think they know exactly how and when they are going to cause it to happen, but I believe they are waiting for all the puzzle pieces to fit together. When they do come together, I believe they will give the ‘go’ signal. ~J

BRUSSELS | Thu May 24, 2012 11:51am EDT

(Reuters) – European Union leaders have given the bloc’s four most powerful officials a little over a month to come up with a clearer template for euro zone integration, a pitch to persuade voters and markets that the euro has staying power.

The four — European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, European Central Bank President Mario Draghi, Eurogroup Chairman Jean-Claude Juncker and European Council President Herman Van Rompuy — have no less a task ahead than spelling out where Europe is actually going.

“We have reached a point in which the process of European integration needs a courageous leap of political imagination in order to survive,” Draghi said on Thursday in the aftermath of an EU summit that was long on the need for unity and growth, but short on both details and agreement.

The four men, working in the shadow of the bloc’s worst financial crisis and under a growing threat of Greece failing to remain in the euro zone, are to report to an EU summit on June 28-29.

“The logic behind all this is that markets and global partners find it difficult to follow what we do on a daily basis, because they are uncertain about the long-term direction of the union,” said one senior euro zone official.

“It is about giving a sense of direction, a strategic objective or goal for various purposes – for citizens, for markets, for global partners,” the official said.

A popular backlash against austerity and reforms in debt-laden Greece, which threatens to force the country out of the euro, has made some investors doubt if the EU’s flagship economic project can hold together.

Euro zone leaders have repeatedly restated their commitment to the shared currency since the sovereign debt crisis began more than two years ago, but many investors remain skeptical because of conflict within the zone over the crisis response.

“Euro zone governments must define in a common and irreversible way their vision of the political and economic foundation that will support the euro,” Draghi said.

A plan for deeper economic integration would aim at making it clear that the euro zone was permanent. It could, in the end, lead to joint debt issuance by countries sharing the euro – a prospect markets and many euro zone governments would welcome.

“It is a way of saying that we should study and reflect on the features and design of an economic union that would make the joint issuance of debt rational,” the official said.

But rather than being a goal in itself, euro bonds would be the consequence of deeper economic integration – a process likely to take many years and entail big political hurdles, such as changes to the EU treaty. Yet no change was not an option.

“We have come to the limits of what can be done without a deeper reflection about the future of the European Union,” the official said.

HOW DEEP?

Over the next weeks a team chosen by the four top officials will try to work out what “building blocks” are needed to achieve deeper integration. Officials said they were likely to include deeper fiscal policy coordination and integration and deeper advance coordination of major economic policy decisions.

There were also likely to be proposals on more cooperation on taxation and, to deal with financial sector problems, more pan-European supervision of banks – possibly an EU bank resolution scheme and possibly an EU deposit guarantee scheme.

Apart from reassuring markets with a long-term view, leaders also hope that once EU citizens know what the future holds, they could be more willing to accept sacrifices and reforms now.

“It will give some meaning to what governments are doing if they can also explain what it is that we are working for, what the direction is. Clearly this sense of direction is not there now,” the official said.

“People do not want to accept savings just because they are told so. They ask: ‘Why?’ It is not enough to say that this is because we have built up so much debt in the past years. There will also have to be a future that anchors expectations and explains why we do things,” the official said.

While there was agreement among EU leaders that deeper integration was a must, convincing voters on the project could be challenging.

Public opinion in countries like Germany, Finland, Slovakia and the Netherlands is against ideas that could, in the end, make them jointly responsible for the debts of less frugal members of the euro zone – as joint debt issuance would.

Therefore it was not clear if the integration vision to be discussed in June would explicitly mention euro bonds.

“Whether that is agreed already now … is difficult to say. It is going to be quite sensitive and difficult for many,” the official said.

RT: FBI secretly creates Internet police Posted on May 26, 2012

Photo from news.21.by

The FBI was rather public with its recent demands for backdoor access to websites and Internet services across the board, but as the agency awaits those secret surveillance powers, they’re working on their own end to have those e-spy capabilities.

Not much has been revealed about one of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s newest projects, the Domestic Communications Assistance Center, and the FBI will probably try to keep it that way. Despite attempting to keep the DCAC largely under wraps, an investigation spearheaded by Cnet’s Declan McCullagh is quickly collecting details about the agency’s latest endeavor.

Governmental agencies have been searching seemingly without end for ways to pry into the personal communications of computer users in America. Congressional approval and cooperation from Internet companies could be an eternity away, of course, but the FBI might be able to bypass that entirely by taking the matter into their own hands. At the Quantico, Virginia headquarters of the DCAC, federal workers are believed to be already hard at work on projects that will put FBI spies into the Internet, snooping on unsuspecting American’s Skype calls, instant messages and everything else carried out with a mouse and keyboard.

As McCullagh reports, the DCAC doesn’t have a website, let alone press releases detailing their plans. The sparse information that is available, however, paints a scary picture of what the FBI has in mind — and what they aim to accomplish with an $8 million handout from Congress.

In the US Drug Enforcement Agency’s budget request with the Department of Justice for the next fiscal year, the report’s authors write that “the recently established Department-wide Domestic Communications Assistance Center (DCAC)” is being “led by the FBI to address the growing technological gap between law enforcement’s electronic surveillance capabilities and the number and variety of communications devices available to the public.”

In other words, the FBI is pissed that wiretapping isn’t as easy as it used to be.

“The foremost challenge confronting US law enforcement is the diminishing ability to conduct lawful electronic intercepts on current and emerging communications technologies as communications providers continue to offer new and improved services and features to customers,” continues the report. “Addressing this issue is critical to maintain law enforcement’s ability to conduct lawful criminal intercepts.”

One year earlier, the Department of Justice revealed that they were looking to establish the DCAC to “facilitate the sharing of technology between law enforcement agencies” and “build more effective relations with the communications industry.”

In a testimony before Congress last year, then general counsel of the FBI, Valerie Caproni, told lawmakers, “In order to enforce the law and protect our citizens from threats to public safety, it is critically important that we have the ability to intercept electronic communications with court approval.”

“We confront, with increasing frequency, service providers who do not fully comply with court orders in a timely and efficient manner. Some providers cannot comply with court orders right away but are able to do so after considerable effort and expense by the provider and the government,” added Caproni.

On USAjobs.gov, the government-run website that advertises federal job openings, it is revealed that the FBI has recently been looking to staff two DCAC positions that pay upwards of $136,000 annually and calls for, among other requirements, “Experience in conducting and/or managing electronic surveillance operations.” The list of duties for the agency’s new hires includes interacting “effectively with LE personnel, management, co-workers and the communications industry to ensure that work performed correlates to defined objectives.” In a separate statement from the FBI, the agency says they are bringing a dozen staffers on board.

Following McCullagh’s expose, the FBI reached out to the reporter and, in not as few words, all but confirmed his fears.

“[T]he NDCAC will have the functionality to leverage the research and development efforts of federal, state, and local law enforcement with respect to electronic surveillance capabilities and facilitate the sharing of technology among law enforcement agencies. Technical personnel from other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies will be able to obtain advice and guidance if they have difficulty in attempting to implement lawful electronic surveillance court orders,”reads the FBI’s statement.

In an attempt to sugarcoat the DCAC, the spokesperson pleads with McCullogh, “It is important to point out that the NDCAC will not be responsible for the actual execution of any electronic surveillance court orders and will not have any direct operational or investigative role in investigations. It will provide the technical knowledge and referrals in response to law enforcement’s requests for technical assistance.”

The FBI, they say, won’t pull the trigger themselves. They claim they’ll just build the gun and the bullets and set their sights on the World Wide Web.

A similar legislation north of the border, the C-30 surveillance bill, will allow Canadian authorities similar powers, if passed.

Breaking news: US Senator Rand Paul offers surprise amendment to rein in FDA abuses, disarm the FDA, decriminalize free speech (Video) Posted on May 25, 2012

As foreseen in the article, the amendment did not pass. But it was a beautiful thing to listen to this human being speaking for humanity … it must have taken globe- sized balls to do that and I am forever grateful. Keep pushing on Senator!
THIS AMENDMENT FAILED MISERABLY- (http://www.naturalnews.com/035966_Rand_Paul_FDA_censorship.html) and legalized free speech about the curative properties of medicinal herbs, nutritional supplements and superfoods, are you curious how many Democrats voted in favor of this?

Zero.

Big fat zero, to be exact.

Not a single Democrat in the United States Senate believes in fundamental food freedom, farm freedom or the principles of liberty. Every single Democrat in the Senate is a Big Brother sellout who supports the FDA having more guns pointed in the faces of raw milk farmers, arresting them and throwing them in prison, criminalizing real food and destroying America’s small family farms.

Every single Democrat in the U.S. Senate believes that telling the truth about the beneficial effects of Chinese Medicine, or medicinal herbs, or nutritional supplements should be a crime that can also get you raided, shut down and imprisoned by the FDA. There is not a single Democrat who sees anything wrong with the government sending herbal product formulators to prison. There is not a single Democrat who believes that an Amish farmer has the right to milk a cowand sell that milk to their neighbor without being threatened by the government.

This is an astonishing milestone in U.S. history. When those in Washington who pretend to represent the People openly and publicly vote to crush the very liberties and freedoms they claim to protect, you no longer have a real Democracy. You have a police state.

Only 15 Senate Republicans believe in liberty
The Republicans are only slightly better on this issue, by the way. Most Republicans also voted against this amendment. But here arethe good guyswho supported it:

Kelly Ayotte (R-NH)
John Boozman (R-AR)
Jim Coburn (R-OK)
John Cornyn (R-TX)
Mike Crapo (R-ID)
Jim DeMint (R-SC)
Mike Johanns (R-NE)
Ron Johnson (R-WI)
Mike Lee (R-UT)
Rand Paul (R-KY)
Jim Risch (R-ID)
John Thune (R-SD)
Pat Toomey (R-PA)
David Vitter (R-LA)
Roger Wicker (R-MS)

All the above Senators — who just happen to be Republicans — deserve your thanks, by the way. Call their offices and tell them how much you appreciate them standing up for fundamental food freedom and farm freedom, even if you don’t agree with their positions on everything else.

85% of the U.S. Senate supports total FDA tyranny over raw milk, farms, food and supplements
The really astonishing point in all this is that out of 100 US Senators, only 15 voted to stop FDA tyranny against farmers.

Just a generation ago, this vote would have been 99 in favor and 1 opposed. But today, with the rise of the corrupt, criminal government police state,85% of U.S. Senators have joined the criminal gangand only seek to expand the power of that criminality. This is a sobering realization about where our country is headed and just how little time we all have left to restore liberty before the whole thing collapses into a total police state takeover with our government murdering millions.

There is no more dangerous entity in the history of the world than a power-hungry government. Inevitably, all such governments quickly turn evil and destructive, often ending in the mass death of tens of millions of innocents. The ghosts of Hitler, Stalin, Mao and other regimes now echo throughout the chambers of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. With each new vote — the Patriot Act, NDAA, Food Safety Modernization Act, etc. — our own representatives thrust us one step closer to a totalitarian dictatorship. Step by step, day by day, a future of mass government death and destruction where the People are stripped of all freedoms inches every closer.

This must be stopped. America is worth saving from its enemies, even if those enemies exist within the highest ranks of the legislative branch itself. It is the duty of every American to take all (non-violent) steps necessary to remove traitors from office anddemand loyalty to the U.S. Constitution and its Bill of Rights, or we will soon find ourselves conquered, enslaved, medicated and malnourished, force-fed GMOs and vaccinated at gunpoint by a tyrannical medical police state that answers only to its corporate masters.

Stand your ground, friends. Stand for liberty. Without liberty, there is no future worth fighting for, and as things exist in the U.S. Senate today, there is not a single Democrat who believes in liberty at all (and few Republicans who do either).

However, the ankle biters still have underground strongholds where they have been regrouping since last Sunday’s epic victory of the Light.

They also have control of another grid very close to the planet’s surface that is supposed to be a light grid, but has been taken over and corrupted into a dark grid for eons of time.  This “near surface” grid ties into their underground strongholds, so the group focus on Sunday, May 27th will be on completely removing them from the near surface grid and from their underground strongholds.

To participate, you’ll need to do the same thing you did last week:  Connect to the Galactic Core and visualize a pillar of electric blue light coming into your body, filling it with light, then anchor that light into the center of the planet.  Next, focus your intent that all of the ankle biters will be arrested and removed from the Earth’s near-surface grid as well as their underground strongholds.

Finally, visualize the highest, most enlightened future possible for all of humanity and planet earth that includes interaction with benevolent beings aligned with the Universal Christ / Divine Light. See every person filled with high-frequency divine light, acting in accordance with their Higher Self, uncorrupted by the lower ego. Imagine the amazing world that we can and will create together in cooperation and harmony.

Bank of England governor Sir Mervyn King hosts secretive summit on euro crisis

Sir Mervyn King

Host: Sir Mervyn King will welcome central bankers to London

London will this week host a private global summit on the world financial crisis amid mounting pressure on eurozone economies.

No agenda has been published and there will be no communique issued afterwards.

‘It is a private, off-the-record meeting,’ said a source.

In the past two days, Spain’s fourth biggest lender, Bankia, said it needed a 19 billion euros (£15 billion) bailout and the  prosperous region of Catalonia warned that it needed more funding from Madrid.

The yield on Spanish government bonds – the government’s likely cost of borrowing – jumped to 6.3 per cent, a figure widely regarded as unsustainable.

The summit will be dominated by central bankers including the host, Sir Mervyn King, Governor of the Bank of England. Mario Draghi, president of the European Central Bank, and Zhou Xiaochuan, governor of the People’s Bank of China, have been invited.

The eurozone is paralysed as it awaits the outcome of elections in Greece on June 17.

The left-wing Syriza party is leading in the polls and is pledged to reject austerity. Hawks led by Germany insist that Greece must stand by the cuts programme if it is to keep receiving bailout money. Greece might have to exit from the euro.

Christine Lagarde, managing director of the International Monetary Fund, also struck a uncompromising stance this weekend, saying she had little sympathy for Greeks who did not pay their taxes and said the country needed to stick to its austerity package.

Meanwhile, banknote printer De La Rue releases full-year results on Tuesday. Its shares have jumped as  Greece may soon need drachmas.

Casseroles [Pots and Pans] РMontr̩al, 24 Mai 2012 РPlus: An Open Letter to the Mainstream English Media Posted on May 27, 2012

Thanks to M. . .

“Why aren’t you writing about this? Does joy not sell as well as violence? Does collaboration not sell as well as confrontation? You can have your cynicism; our revolution is sincere.”

Video by jeremiebattaglia.com

Protest in Montreal against the rise of tuition fees in Quebec and the new law 78.
Every evening at 8pm people meet in the street with their pots and pans and make all the noise they can.
A big thank you to the band Avec pas d’casque and their record label Grosse Boîte.

These are the pots and pans I believe Drake was suggesting we all use! ~J

An Open Letter to the Mainstream English Media:

Thank you; you are a little late to the party, and you are still missing the mark a lot of the time, but in the past few days, you have published some not entirely terrible articles and op-eds about what’s happening in Quebec right now. Welcome to our movement.

Some of you have even started mentioning that when people are rounded up and arrested each night, they aren’t all criminals or rioters. Some of you have admitted that perhaps limiting our freedom of speech and assembly is going a little bit too far. Some of you are no longer publishing lies about the popular support that you seemed to think our government had. Not all of you, mind you, but some of you are waking up.

That said, here is what I have not seen you publish yet: stories about joy; about togetherness; about collaboration; about solidarity. You write about our anger, and yes, we are angry. We are angry at our government, at our police and at you. But none of you are succeeding in conveying what it feels like when you walk down the streets of Montreal right now, which is, for me at least, an overwhelming sense of joy and togetherness.

News coverage of Quebec almost always focuses on division: English vs. French; Quebec-born vs. immigrant; etc. This is the narrative that has shaped how people see us as a province, whether or not it is fair. But this is not what I feel right now when I walk down the street. At 8pm, I rush out of the house with a saucepan and a ladle, and as I walk to meet my fellow protesters, I hear people emerge from their balconies and the music starts. If you do not live here, I wish I could properly convey to you what it feels like; the above video is a start. It is magic. It starts quietly, a suggestion here and there, and it builds. Everybody on the street begins to smile. I get there, and we all—young and old, children and students and couples and retirees and workers and weird misfits and dogs and, well, neighbours—we all grin the widest grins you have ever seen while dancing around and making as much noise as possible. We are almost ecstatic with the joy of letting loose like this, of voicing our resistance to a government that seeks to silence us, and of being together like this.

I have lived in my neighbourhood for five years now, and this is the most I have ever felt a part of the community; the lasting impact that these protests will have on how people relate to each other in the city is deep and incredible. I was born and raised in Montreal, and I have always loved this city, I have always told people that it is the best city in the world, but I have truly never loved it as much as I do right now.

The first night that I went to a casseroles (pots and pans) demonstration, at the centre of the action—little children ecstatically blowing whistles, a young couple handing out extra pots and pans to passers-by, a yoga teacher who paused his class to have everyone join—I saw a bemused couple, banging away, but seemingly confused about something. When we finished, they asked me, “how did you find us?” I replied that I had checked the map that had been posted online of rendez-vous spots, and theirs was the nearest to my house. “Last night we were all alone,” they told me. They had no idea it had been advertized online. This is what our revolution looks like: someone had clearly ridden around our neighbourhood, figured out where people were protesting, and marked them for the rest of us. This is a revolution of collaboration. Of solidarity.

The next night the crowd had doubled. Tonight we will be even more.

I come home from these protests euphoric. The first night I returned, I sat down on my couch and I burst into tears, as the act of resisting, loudly, with my neighbours, so joyfully, had released so much tension that I had been carrying around with me, fearing our government, fearing arrest, fearing for the future. I felt lighter. Every night, I exchange stories with friends online and find out what happened in their neighbourhoods. These are the kinds of things we say to each other: “if I loved my city any more right now, my heart would burst.” We use the word “love” a whole lot. We feel empowered. We feel connected. We feel like we are going to win.

Why don’t you write about this? This incredible feeling? Another example I can give you is this very blog. Myself and a few friends began it as a way of disseminating information in English about what was happening here in Quebec, and within hours, literally hours, volunteers were writing me offering to help. Every day, people submit translations to me anonymously; I have no idea who they are, they just want to do something. They come from everywhere. They translate what they think is important to get out there into the world. People email me corrections, too. They email me advice. They email me encouragement. This blog runs on solidarity and utter human kindness.

This is what Quebec looks like right now. Every night is teargas and riot cops, but it is also joy, laughter, kindness, togetherness, and beautiful music. Our hearts are bursting. We are so proud of each other; of the spirit of Quebec and its people; of our ability to resist, and our ability to collaborate.

Why aren’t you writing about this? Does joy not sell as well as violence? Does collaboration not sell as well as confrontation? You can have your cynicism; our revolution is sincere.

Sincerely,

The Administrator of Translating the printemps érable.

Addendum:

As a perfect illustration of the incredible collaborative and generous spirit that is emblematic of this movement, within two hours of posting the above letter, I received, unsolicited, the following translation of the song that is features in the video. This is who we are.

Lyrics:

You tell them

You tell them

That it was instinct that

Drove you up to here.

You tell them

You tell them

That your senses were screaming

Deeply driven

By a strange force

Let it be your base camp.

Let it be your base camp.

You tell them

You tell them

That it was intuition that

Drove you up to here

A carelessness

So necessary every now and then

Let it be your base camp.

Let it be your base camp.

Cooperative Banking, the Exciting Wave of the Future – by Ellen Brown

As our political system sputters, a wave of innovative thinking and bold experimentation is quietly sweeping away outmoded economic models. In ‘New Economic Visions’, a special five-part AlterNet series edited by Economics Editor Lynn Parramore in partnership with political economist Gar Alperovitz of the Democracy Collaborative, creative thinkers come together to explore the exciting ideas and projects that are shaping the philosophical and political vision of the movement that could take our economy back.

According to both the Mayan and Hindu calendars, 2012 (or something very close) marks the transition from an age of darkness, violence and greed to one of enlightenment, justice and peace. It’s hard to see that change just yet in the events relayed in the major media, but a shift does seem to be happening behind the scenes; and this is particularly true in the once-boring world of banking.

In the dark age of Kali Yuga, money rules; and it is through banks that the moneyed interests have gotten their power. Banking in an age of greed is fraught with usury, fraud and gaming the system for private ends. But there is another way to do banking; the neighborly approach of George Bailey in the classic movie It’s a Wonderful Life. Rather than feeding off the community, banking can feed the community and the local economy.

Today, the massive too-big-to-fail banks are hardly doing George Bailey-style loans at all. They are not interested in community lending. They are doing their own proprietary trading—trading for their own accounts—which generally means speculating against local interests. They engage in high-frequency program trading that creams profits off the top-of-stock market trades; speculation in commodities that drives up commodity prices; leveraged buyouts with borrowed money that can result in mass layoffs and factory closures; and investment in foreign companies that compete against our local companies.

We can’t do much to stop them. They’ve got the power, especially at the federal level. But we can quietly set up an alternative model, and that’s what is happening on various local fronts.

Most visible are the Move Your Money and Occupy Wall Street movements. According to the Web site of the Move Your Money campaign, an estimated 10 million accounts have left the largest banks since 2010. Credit unions have enjoyed a surge in business as a result. The Credit Union National Association reported that in 2012, for the first time ever, credit union assets rose above $1 trillion. Credit unions are non-profit, community-minded organizations with fewer fees and less fine print than the big risk-taking banks, and their patrons are not just customers but owners, sharing partnership in a cooperative business.

Move “Our” Money: The Public Bank Movement

The Move Your Money campaign has been wildly successful in mobilizing people and raising awareness of the issues, but it has not made much of a dent in the reserves of Wall Street banks, which already had $1.6 trillion sitting in reserve accounts as a result of the Fed’s second round of quantitative easing in 2010. What might make a louder statement would be for local governments to divest their funds from Wall Street, and some local governments are now doing this. Local governments collectively have well over a trillion dollars deposited in Wall Street banks.

A major problem with the divestment process is finding local banks large enough to take the deposits. One proposed solution is for states, counties and cities to establish their own banks, capitalized with their own rainy day funds and funded with their own revenues as a deposit base.

Today only one state actually does this: North Dakota. North Dakota is also the only state to have escaped the credit crisis of 2008, sporting a sizeable budget surplus every year since. It has the lowest unemployment rate in the country, the lowest default rate on credit card debt, and no state government debt at all. The Bank of North Dakota (BND) has an excellent credit rating and returns a hefty dividend to the state every year.

The BND model hasn’t yet been duplicated in other states, but a movement is afoot. Since 2010, 18 states have introduced legislation of one sort or another for a state-owned bank.

Values-based Banking: Too Sustainable to Fail

Meanwhile, there is a strong movement at the local level for sustainable, “values-based” banking—conventional banks committed to responsible lending and service to the local community. These are George Bailey-style banks, which base their decisions first and foremost on the needs of people and the environment.

One of the leaders internationally is Triodos Bank, which has local offices in the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Germany. Its Web site says that it makes socially responsible investments that are selected according to strict sustainability criteria and overseen by an international panel of “stakeholder” representatives representing various community, environmental, and worker interest groups. Investments include the financing of more than 1,000 organic and sustainable food production projects, more than 300 renewable energy projects, 33 fair trade agricultural exporters in 22 different countries, 85 microfinance institutions in 43 countries, and 398 cultural and arts projects.

Two U.S. banks exemplifying the model are One PacificCoast Bank and New Resource Bank. Operating in California, Oregon and Washington, One PacificCoast is comprised of a sustainable community development bank with around $300 million in assets and a non-profit foundation (One PacificCoast Foundation). Its commercial lending business focuses on such sectors as specialty agriculture, renewable energy, green building, and low-income housing. Foundation activities include programs to “help eliminate discrimination, encourage affordable housing, alleviate economic distress, stimulate community development and increase financial literacy.”

New Resource Bank is a California based B-corporation (“Benefit”) with $171 million in assets, which focuses its lending and banking services on local green and sustainable businesses. New Resource was recognized in 2012 as one of the “Best for the World” businesses, being in the top 10 percent of all certified B-Corporations and scoring more than 50 percent higher than 2,000 other sustainable businesses in overall positive social and environmental impact.

All this might be good for the world, but isn’t investing locally in a values-based bank riskier and less profitable than putting your money on Wall Street? Not according to a study commissioned by the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV). The 2012 study compared the financial profiles between 2007 and 2010 of 17 values-based banks with 27 Globally Systemically Important Financial Institutions (GSIFIs)—basically the too-big-to-fail banks, including Bank of America, JPMorgan, Barclays, Citicorp and Deutsche Bank. According to the GABV report, values-based banks delivered higher financial returns than some of the world’s largest financial institutions, with a return on assets averaging above 0.50 percent, compared to just 0.33 percent for the GSIFIs; and returns on equity averaging 7.1 percent, compared to 6.6 percent for the GSIFIs. They appeared to be stronger financially, with both higher levels of and better quality capital; and they were twice as likely to invest their assets in loans.

CDFIs

Along with the values-based banks, community investment is undertaken in the United States by Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), including community development banks, community development credit unions, community development loan funds, community development venture capital funds, and microenterprise loan funds. According to the CDFI Coalition, there are over 800 CDFIs certified by the CDFI Fund, operating in every state in the nation and the District of Columbia. In 2008 (the last year for which a report is available), CDFIs invested $5.53 billion “to create economic opportunity in the form of new jobs, affordable housing units, community facilities, and financial services for low-income citizens.”

Two of many interesting examples are the Alternatives Federal Credit Union and Boston Community Capital. Alternatives FCU, located in Ithaca, New York, is committed to community development and social change and is part of the Alternatives Group, which includes a non-profit corporation (Alternatives Community Ventures); a 40-year old trade association of community groups, cooperatives, worker-owned businesses and individuals (Alternatives Fund); and a not-for-profit organization that facilitates secondary capital investment in the credit union (Tomkins County Friends of Alternatives, Inc.). The credit union has over $70 million in assets and offers many innovative financial products, including individual development accounts—special savings accounts for low-income residents that offer matching deposits of two to one up to a certain amount—in addition to more traditional services such as loans for minority and women-owned businesses, and affordable mortgages. The credit union also offers small business development (classes, seminars, consultation, and networking programs), free tax preparation, and a student credit union.

Although its lending programs focus on lower-income borrowers, Alternatives FCU has had lower delinquency and charge-off rates than many major banks that avoid these types of customers. Boston Community Capital (BCC) is a CDFI that is not actually a bank but invests in projects that provide affordable housing and jobs in lower-income neighborhoods. BCC includes a loan fund, a venture fund, a mortgage lender, a real estate consultation organization, a solar energy fund, and a federal New Markets Tax Credit investment vehicle. Since 1985, it has invested over $700 million in local organizations and businesses. These funds have helped build or preserve more than 12,800 affordable housing units, as well as child care facilities for almost 9,000 children and healthcare facilities that reach 56,000 people. Their investments have helped renovate 850,000 square feet of commercial real estate, generate 5.9 million KW hours of solar energy capacity, and create more than 1,500 jobs.

Less Money for Banks and More for Workers: The Models of Germany and Japan

Values-based banks and CDFIs are a move in the right direction, but their market share in the U.S. remains small. To see the possibilities of a banking system with a mandate to serve the public, we need to look abroad.

Germany and Japan are export powerhouses, in second and third place globally for net exports. (The U.S. trails at 192nd.) One competitive advantage for both of these countries is that their companies have ready access to low-cost funding from cooperatively owned banks.

In Germany, about half the total assets of the banking system are in the public sector, while another substantial chunk is in cooperative savings banks. Germany’s strong public banking system includes 11 regional public banks (Landesbanken) and thousands of municipally owned savings banks (Sparkassen). After the Second World War, it was the publicly owned Landesbanks that helped family-run provincial companies get a foothold in world markets. The Landesbanks are key tools of German industrial policy, specializing in loans to the Mittelstand, the small-to-medium size businesses that drive the country’s export engine.

Because of the Landesbanks, small firms in Germany have as much access to capital as large firms. Workers in the small business sector earn the same wages as those in big corporations, have the same skills and training, and are just as productive. In January 2011, the net value of Germany’s exports over its imports was 7 percent of GDP, the highest of any nation. But it hasn’t had to outsource its labor force to get that result. The average hourly compensation (wages plus benefits) of German manufacturing workers is $48—a full 50 percent more than the $32 hourly average for their American counterparts.

In Japan, the banks are principally owned not by shareholders but by other companies in the same keiretsu or industrial group, in a circular arrangement in which the companies basically own each other. Even when there are nominal outside owners, corporations are managed so that the bulk of the wealth generated by the corporation flows either to the workers as income or to investment in the company, making the workers and the company the beneficial owners.

Since the 1980s, U.S. companies have focused on maximizing short-term profits at the expense of workers and longer-term goals. This trend stems in part from the fact that they are now funded largely by capital from shareholders who own the company and want simply to grow their returns. According to a 2005 report from the Center for European Policy Studies in Brussels, equity financing is more than twice as important in the U.S. as in Europe, accounting for 116 percent of GDP compared with 62 percent in Japan and 54 percent in the eurozone countries. In both Europe and Japan, the majority of corporate funding comes not from investors but from borrowing, either from banks or from the bond market.

Funding with low-interest loans from cooperatively owned banks leaves greater control of the company in the hands of employees who either own it or have much more say in its operation. Access to low-interest loans can also slash production costs. According to German researcher Margrit Kennedy, when interest charges are added up at every level of production, 40 percent of the cost of goods, on average, comes from interest.

Globally, the burgeoning movement for local, cooperatively owned and community-oriented banks is blazing the trail toward a new, sustainable form of banking. The results may not yet qualify as the Golden Age prophesied by Hindu cosmology, but they are a major step in that direction.

Helen Bailey Will Stay in Her Home

Don't foreclose on Helen Bailey

Greetings,

I just signed the following petition addressed to: Chase, c/o Wilson and Associates

----------------
Don't foreclose on Helen Bailey

I am writing to you on behalf of Helen Bailey, a 78 year old woman who participated in the civil rights movement, worked as a childcare provider for autistic children, and was a community volunteer. She has paid her mortgage since 1999, but now she can't keep up the payments. All she wants is to stay in her home until she dies, in the neighborhood where she feels safe and has lived for nearly quarter of a century. She could have refinanced with a company willing to let her live in the house for free until her death, but Chase Bank would not reduce her principal by $9,000. She's been paying 7% interest, well above most rates, so Chase could have decided they had made enough. Instead, the bank has started foreclosure and Ms Bailey could end on the street.

Since then, Ms Bailey's lawyer has found an alternate buyer for her home. This sale would provide Ms Bailey with an exit from her current mortgage and allow her to pursue other options for housing. We request that Chase:

· accept the offer of $85,000
· write off any deficiency between the loan balance and the offer
· waive all interest, legal fees and penalties accrued since the initial refinance offer
· cancel any foreclosure auction scheduled

It has been estimated that at foreclosure, Chase may lose over $30,000 compared to this settlement offer. Therefore this option makes the most sense financially for Chase and given Ms Bailey's specific circumstances, there is little moral hazard in this solution.

I want to tell Chase that in Nashville, in America, we don’t throw elderly ladies out on the street. In Nashville, in America, we fight for what’s right. Helen Bailey marched for civil rights. It's your turn to do the right thing for Helen Bailey.

Furthermore, to mark Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday and Black History Month, Chase has appropriated the memory of Dr. King to advertise its Community Giving program. At a time when minorities are routinely targeted by your bank for loans on unfair and predatory terms, it is shameful that you would exploit the memory of such a great man for your own gain.

"The values exhibited by Dr. King and embodied in his lifelong struggle for social change align with those that shape JPMorgan Chase's approach to giving in the communities in which it operates," your newly launched website reads.

But King's legacy is not for Chase to use to cover up their own special brand of callousness.

Don't throw a grandmother who marched for civil rights on the street.

----------------

Sincerely,

[Your name]

AND THEY CALLED HIS NAME IMMANUEL *** I AM SANANDA BY SANANDA & JUDAS ISCARIOTH

INTRODUCTION

REC #1 ESU JESUS SANANDA

SUN., AUG. 6, 1989 9:00 A.M. YEAR 2, DAY 355

To have this information makes it most critical that care be taken for the scribe will be in utmost jeopardy of life itself. My utmost appreciation and respect goes to the pioneers who dared put these truths to paper and have since been either assassinated (murdered) or terribly persecuted.

The information will follow the scrolls of record-making by mine beloved friend, Judas Iscarioth, who was always faithful and true and scribed those things brought forth in his attention and by historical data presented by spirit forms, PETALE and ARAHAT ATHERSATA unto one on your place to remain nameless on this particular date of writing, for the protection of him and his family. The receiver of the scrolls has long since been murdered along with his entire family. This will now be put to paper in thy language so that when the time is appropriate, ye shall already have it into print. We will bring unto you proof and then man will need of this information immediately.

Great gratitude goes forth unto those blessed ones of Pleiades who faithfully gave unto Earth friend, the explanations, translations and protection of the scrolls themselves. I give open dedication to SFATH, ASKET, SEMJASE, and PTAAH and their crews, who risked thy atmosphere and hostilities for lo, these years to bring truth forth unto ye awakening ones of Earth. When protection is assured, I shall dedicate a section in the Book of Life unto the one on your place who "dared". So be it. I further give unlimited praise and gratitude to this little scribe, who dares to speak truth within the viper pit.

Many of mine words will be familiar to the original publisher of these Truths but he will forgive my own interpretations for these Truths cannot be kept hidden within archives for the time is at hand in which only "Truth" shall allow of Earth Man to endure and ultimately survive.

Many of the writings will have already been presented to mine small circle of friends in and through brethren in Tejas Shape', in that they have been incorporated into lessons by mineself that they might begin to understand the magnitude of the truth as it disputes that which is printed so unrestrained about thy planet.

When I make comment about "white races" I take no exception to "color" as such that you recognize. It is a definition of which you of Earth can relate in description. Ye of Earth will grow above thy bigotry or ye shall not function within the outer universe. Within the orderly functioning of the Cosmos there is naught allowed for bigotry. Ye are of different colors simply because ye are experiencing in different color format; no more and no less.

Firstly, I will give you some historical data regarding this information and some more current attitudes. Leaders, especially the so called "church" "cults" will be troubled, however, ye cannot decipher thy Holy Books because they are unreasonable and filled with misinformation. What I shall bring unto thee is not only "truth", it is most sensible. You ones will stop placing limits upon God, or ye shall perish in thy ignorance and foolishness. There is no worse self penalty than that of leading thy brother into foolishness which costs him his life.

The document to follow is translated from scrolls which were brought forth in thy year nineteen hundred plus sixty three by a Catholic priest of Greek heritage. The writings were recorded, mostly at my side. The scrolls were preserved as well as was possible at that time and hidden beneath flat stones within the tomb in which I was placed. The priest will remain without name in protection of any heirs remaining from his household lineage. These daring few are not of thy United States of America and families are even more in jeopardy in the part of the world in which they resided or now reside. He requested security and secrecy at the time of bringing them forth and we shall continue to honor that request until such time all is in safety.

Judas Iscarioth was a beloved disciple of myself. He has been falsely deprecated as the betrayer of myself for lo, these two thousand years, although this precious one was not connected in any way with the betrayal. The heinous deed of betrayal was actually executed by one of the house of IHARIOTH—JUDA.

The still reigning orthodox and conservative clergy and their misled followers may well try to deny, destroy, and accuse as untrue, the text which will be presented, with all possible means, just as they have with many other documents which testified to the actual truth (reference to the books of HENOCH and JEZIHRA, etc). Never heard of them? Of course ye have not—but if ye dig ye shall find of them, for they have been purposely preserved in duplication for the originals have been destroyed that you never hear of them. These aforementioned books were originally placed within the covers of the Holy Bible of which ye daily, then removed intentionally for they were "too truthful". This was done intentionally to preserve the threatened, misleading, false teachings as presented by Earth doctrine hierarchy. Every effort will be put forth to pull this document from publication and circulation—news flash:::: IT WILL NOT WORK THIS TIME.

Pressure has been placed upon the first editor of the text from many facets, and he has been persecuted and fears assassination fulfillment as three major attempts at such in the year, 1975, were almost successful. This, even with witnesses present.

Steps are long underway by police, authorities, prosecutors, judges and courts, as well as a media defamation of character on a widescale basis, to destroy this material. Of course it cannot succeed in nor harm the truth of the text in one iota. The cunning agents charged with this assignment shall most certainly proceed with utmost caution and skill, and with much intrigue in order that the text will be denounced, regarded as a lie and destroyed, as was also the case after the publication of other texts: THE ORIGINAL, HOWEVER, WERE, AND ARE, INCLUDED IN THE VATICAN'S LIBRARY IN ROME. SO BE IT.

***YE HAVE JUST HAD THE SHROUD OF TURIN REJECTED AS UNTRUTH—AH, SO? IT WAS IN THE SAME TOMB WITHIN WHICH THE SCROLLS HEREIN WRITTEN WERE ALSO PRESERVED AND PRESENTED! AT ONE AND THE SAME TIME! ***

NOW, HOW DO YE THINK THOSE THINGS GOT THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE AND FOUND AFTER ALMOST 2,000 YEARS? BECAUSE YE ARE MOVING INTO THE FINAL STAGES OF THY REVELATIONS' PROPHECIES! THE WORLD WILL COME INTO TRUTH, FRIENDS, THE WORLD WILL COME INTO TRUTH.

Fanatics of religious cults and other misled individuals shall cry "murder" and use all means at their disposal to fight the existence of the texts, and against the ones who bring this information forth. But as ye know, it has been thus all along, without hesitation to murder or defame any in protection of self lies and control of other humans. It has ever been this way on thy placement. What of the "Christian" "Inquisition" (this, ordered by the Holy Vatican Chair) in order to realize how, for instance, the "Holy Office" or "the Holy Chair in Rome", and the Pope proceeds in order to build up the false cult religion "Christendom", or to save it. By order of the "Holy Chair", in Europe the recorded murders ordered by the "Holy Chair" totaled over nine million during the time of the "Inquisition" alone. The unrecorded number of murders (by thy own Earth records in historical libraries) is speculated to be another nine million. Would you guess that perhaps the greatest "anti-Christ" on thy placement might be the "Christians"? The German holocaust pales by comparison, does it not? Is it any wonder that the records which would be placed within thy Holy Books would be most carefully translated into lies in support of the ones in power? Ones of mine beloved friends and followers have been thusly recorded incorrectly and their own truth butchered and stolen—they have come back, brethren, to set it to rights. So be it Peter, Socrates, Akhnaton, Mr. Bacon! So be it! This time, Oberli, ye shall pull it off!!, blessed scribe in Galilee and long before! Ye shall each be shown thy placement for I honor thee ones but time does not permit at this sitting.

This translation proves without any doubt that the false teachings of the doctrine cult religions are completely without truth and that they are the irresponsible machinations of creatures without scruples who were partially hired by the "Holy Chair", or perhaps were IGNORANT and as the religious groupings broke away because of the false teachings and persecution, had no truth upon which to base the new. I am not going to dwell in what would be called the "Old Testament" at this scribing in any great detail for thy truth of "more recent history" is that which affects you most critically at this cycle of transition and revelation. We shall get into THE CREATION and things of that nature at another writing.

In mine name, these ones were, throughout thousands of years, without thought or scruples, and shed human blood through murdering people in the counted millions. IS THIS JUSTICE FROM A JUST GOD? WE SHALL SEE.

Worse, however, the successors of these murderous and unscrupulous creatures created throughout the centuries and millennia a mighty power of cult religion which is able to rule the entire world. In the course of past millennia, the cult religions brutally fought their way up through bloody and bestial murders to the most influential powers of the earth to which even the brutal and dictatorial governments bow—EVEN THY LEADERS WHO ARE NOT OF THE FAITH! THEY ARE EVEN ASKED TO INTERCEDE IN BEHALF OF ONES—TO THE LEADERS WHO DISCLAIM CHRISTIANITY—DOES THIS NOT TELL THEE TRUTH?

This is the most putrid cover of the most influential power in the name of a false and deceptive LOVE which, literally speaking, walks over dead bodies without thought or compunction, devoid of conscience. Backed by the false teaching and altered concepts of the "NEW TESTAMENT", the Christian cult religion maneuvered itself into the politics of all countries. It does not even shy away from entering the most intimate family life of people—even intruding into the bed of the married couple in order to attack the last and most private secret of man, and pull it down in the cult religions' filthiness of the so-called "church", and thus destroy any and everything of human, personal value.

ONE WITH GOD AND I COME FORTH TO RECLAIM THAT WHICH IS THE FATHER'S. I HEREBY AGAIN, PLACE THE OPPOSING FORCES ON NOTICE! I AM RE TURNED IN MINE FULL INHERITANCE AND YE SHALL NOT PREVAIL. MINE PEOPLE SHALL BE SET INTO FREEDOM AND YE OF SATAN AND PERSECUTORS SHALL BE CAST DOWN INTO THE INFINITE VOID. SO BE IT FOR I HAVE SPOKEN IT THUSLY AND SO IT IS END; SO SHALL IT COME TO PASS IN THIS, THY GENERATION THY COUNTING OF TIME—NEAR.

FROM ALL THIS THE EARTHMAN WILL FINALLY SEE WHAT TRUTH IS AND RECOGNIZE THE LIE PERPETRATED AGAINST HIS VERY SOUL LIFE. IT IS ONLY THROUGH THE TRUTH THAT MANKIND CAN ASSERT HIS FORCE AND POWER OVER MAN ENSLAVING HIM IN EVERY RESPECT.

LET IT BE NOTED HERE. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO THINK YE ARE SAFE AND WILL "SORT-OF" NOTE THIS AND LET DHARMA. OR SISTER, OR LITTLE CROW. OR B.M. OR K. COPELAND OR ANY OTHER TAKE THE LOAD: FORGET IT, BROTHERS, FOR THIS WAS YOUR COMMITMENT AND I WOULD NOT LIKE TO STAND AT THY JUDGMENT (WHICH I MOST SURELY SHALL), HAVING GIVEN THESE SCRIBES INTO THY ADVERSARY'S CLUTCHES. THIS IS "WHY" THERE ARE NO GRAY AREAS. YE ARE EITHER WITH ME OR AGAINST ME. IF YOU ARE "SORT OF" THEN YE ARE A DEADLY TOOL FOR THE USE OF THE DARK FORCES.

I hope I have made it very clear that casual believers and adherents of the real teaching of MYSELF, JMMANUEL (ESU, JESUS CHRISTOS, ISA, IISA, EISA,—IMMANUEL, SANANDA, ET CETERA, ET CETERA) are threatened also.

However, these ones who scribe are placed in double jeopardy and endangered from two factors. These ones are also direct contacts between the Earth and extra-terrestrial forms of knowledge, and very highly developed forms of spirit of higher levels who transmit to them unadulterated, directly, mouth to ear, and in total truth. THE LIES WILL BE UNCOVERED AND BROUGHT INTO LIGHT THAT THE MASSES CAN WIT NESS UNTO TRUTH; FOR PROOF SHALL ACCOMPANY THE MESSAGES AND THIS WILL BEGIN IN FULL MEASURE IN THY VERY SHORT FUTURE, IN THY CLOCK SEGMENTS.

I will hereby give unlabeled deference and homage unto the one who first brought forth the original translation (Old Aramaic scripting) and severed his relationship with the cult church. HE STRUGGLED TO LIVE UNRECOGNIZED WITH HIS FAMILY. HE, BEING AWARE OF THE ENORMOUS POWER OF THE CULT RELIGIONS, REQUESTED HIS NAME BE WITHHELD FROM THE PUBLIC AS WELL AS FROM THE SCRIPTS THEMSELVES THAT HE MIGHT PROTECT HIS FAMILY MEMBERS. HE RIGHTFULLY FEARED FOR HIS LIFE AND THAT OF HIS DEAR FAMILY. WHO MEANWHILE ALL BECAME VICTIMS OF THE RELIGIOUS PERSECUTORS AND WERE ASSASSINATED, TO THE LAST MEMBER WHICH COULD BE LOCATED. SO BE IT: HEED WELL THESE WORDS. THESE PUBLICATIONS WILL NOT COME FORTH FROM THIS LOCATION BUT WILL BE PUT TO BOOK FORMAT ELSEWHERE. THAT THE SCRIBE BE PROTECTED.

In thy year 1963 the original translator of the original scrolls of the forthcoming text, was taken to MINE actual tomb where he was shown and given confirmation and items of proof.

Portions of the scrolls were illegible or disintegrated; also several pages were missing. Nevertheless, the portion that is still evident and in existence is a stirring testimony to the fact that truth is not that which ye have been fed, but in fact, the most massive web of lies ever imagined has been cast upon you ones.

It is rare indeed, that individuals succeed in bringing public themes and truths which clarify original meanings, or even barely elucidate same, when great political, religious cults or military issues are under discussion. Previous experience on your place, proves that generally those people are persecuted, tortured, and murdered because in each case enemy forces appear and are given the assignment to not only represent the truthfulness of a statement but with any means possible or available, make themselves a mockery of the truth that it be discounted. REMEMBER: SATAN MOST OFTEN COMES IN THE SHEEP'S CLOTH TO KILL THE LAMBS AND HE ALSO COMES FORTH PROCLAIMING HIMSELF "THE PRINCE OF LIGHT". FALSE PROPHETS? OH YE BLIND LAMBS AWAITING THY SLAUGHTER, I BEG AND PETITION THAT YE OPEN OF THINE EYES AND EARS THAT YE SEE AND HEAR.

I shall not mince of mine words with thee for ye are in most critical and serious times and circumstance. Thy planet is ready to blow apart in the hands of the evil ones. Can ye not see of it falling all about thee?

Man takes the discounting even farther in every case to date; the texts are banned, taken out of circulation with the help of pastors, the police, authorities, courts and those in power. The writers are usually incarcerated on any false accusation remotely conjured forth and assassinations are often carried out in the very presence of the prison officials.

Further, texts of Truth are "safe-guarded" in hidden archives or blatantly destroyed to further withhold from the people of the Earth the truthful reality, and to continue to let them suffer the consequence of their erroneous thinking and their false teaching, and to let them starve and decay in misery, because only in this manner can man be exploited to the last drop of his blood, most especially by governments and cult religions.

IT SHALL NOT BE THUS AGAIN. THE TIME OF TRUTH UPON EARTH HAS ARRIVED. YE ONES SHALL BE IN THE CHOOSING OF THY TRUTH FOR THE ENDING OF A CYCLE AND A FORTHCOMING TRANSITION IS AT HAND. THE FULFILLING OF THE PROPHECIES ARE ALL BUT TO THE FINAL CHAPTER. YE ONES ARE IN THY FINAL DAYS! ALSO BE IT AND I PLACE MINE SEAL OF TRUTH UPON THESE WORDS. I AM ONE WITH GOD: I AM THE CHRIST WHO IS RETURNED UNTO YOU ONES TO RECLAIM MINE PEOPLE AND MINE FATHER'S KINGDOM. I HAVE PREPARED A PLACE FOR YOU AND THE PLAN OF THE TRANSITION IS LAID IN PERFECTION. I PLEAD WITH YOU TO HEAR MINE CALL.

I AM THAT I AM, I AM ESU JESUS SANANDA

I AM THE LORD THY GOD, MANIFEST AND INCARNATE

DO YE KNOW WHO YE MIGHT BE?

ONE WITH GOD AND THE CREATION, I AM AND YE CAN BE AS I AM!
